News, news and more news!

Firstly welcome to the brand new Hidden Horizons website...we are very nearly six years old and this is the first time we have attempted to bring everything we do into one online space. That means it is work in progress and updates happen on a daily (sometimes hourly basis!), if there is something you would like to see on here then drop us a message

It is fair to say 2020 has been (and continues to be) a tumultuous year for everyone, and that includes the Hidden Horizons team. An update on us is long over due and we have lots of news to share, what follows are the highlights, but more detail will follow in coming days. The most important message is we are still very much up and running...

We are really excited to be announce a brand new base for Hidden Horizons and our sister company GeoEd LtdThe Fossil Shop - Scarborough is located on Eastborough, just 200m from South Bay Beach. We will open the doors for the first time on 24th October 2020, and you will be able to peruse and purchase a huge range of genuine fossils, books, and GeoEd replicas. We plan to open 7 days a week with events throughout the year coming soon and look forward to seeing you there. If you can't wait that long, or can't visit in person then most of our shop range will be available online.

Shortly we will be reopening our new, improved and bigger Dalby Explorer Hub, located in The Courtyard at Low Dalby (near the main visitor centre). We already have our stargazing events upto the beginning of January listed and more will follow. We hope to very soon relaunch the Dalby Diddys and our Bushcraft offer, keep checking back for details.

Due to the COVID situation we have been looking at other ways of offering you events, and are delighted to be able to run some online events, the first of these will be An Introduction to Fossils led by Dr Liam Herringshaw, you can book here. Liam is joining the Hidden Horizons team and you may already have met him on a fossil hunting trip or similar, we are looking forward to lots of new events led by Liam soon. We have some spaces left on our October Fossil Hunting trips.

Our Explorer Schools packages have understandably been quieter than normal but we are delighted to be back working with some of regular schools, and hope to be back upto full speed soon, details of our schools offer can be found here

Finally for now we just want to say a huge thankyou for all the support you have shown us over the last few months.Special thanks to everyone who donated to our crowdfunding campaign, if we have haven't been in touch yet we will be very soon. We look forward to seeing you soon, and most importantly stay safe.

Will Watts  and all the Hidden Horizons team.
