We mainly operate along the whole North Yorkshire Coastline and across the North York Moors, but we often travel further afield to deliver events and sessions, for our Explorer Schools packages. Find out more about our indoor venues and the outdoor locations we like to use for our events.
We currently operate two indoor venues, our main base is The Fossil Shop in Scarborough, with the Dalby Explorer Hub being the focus of all our activities in Dalby Forest.
The Fossil Shop is situated just 200m from Scarborough South Bay and is our main base, open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. Here you can not only find out about and book any of our events, you can also peruse and purchase from a fabulous range of fossils, books, and equipment. The venue is also home to our sister company GeoEd Ltd and we run a number of events that are based at the shop or start here.
Located in the heart of Dalby Forest in The Courtyard at Low Dalby, The Dalby Explorer Hub our starting point for all our Dalby Forest Events, including stargazing, bushcraft and Dalby Diddys. Within 200m of the main Visitor Centre carpark, and with toilets close by we are able to run indoor sessions here when the weather is inclement, including our inflatable planetarium. We plan to open a shop at this location in the near future. Currently the Hub is only open when we have an event running but we hope to expand the opening hours soon.
The Dalby Explorer Hub has its own Facebook page, can be contacted on 01723 817017 and is located at Units 1 and 2, The Courtyard, Low Dalby, Nr Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 7LT.
We are based in some of the most stunning countryside and coastline the UK has to offer, including the North York Moors National Park, Dalby Forest, The Cleveland and North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the coastal villages and towns such as Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and Filey. We make full use of the range of locations, playing to their individual strengths when planning our events, so whether its fossil hunting on world famous Jurassic rocks or stargazing in the Dark Skies of Dalby Forest we really do have some of the best outdoor spaces for you to explore.
